Thank you!

Two weeks ago at the Unveiling Conference, where Mike Bickle and Heidi Baker ministered, I was in the hospitality lounge when Heidi came running across the room and gave me a hug before backing up in order to really look at me. "You are looking great, Fred!" She said that it was particularly good to see me doing so well because she has had her little "munchkins",(her descriptive designation, not mine)in Mozambique praying for me since she heard about the stroke last December.

She also filled me in on how Rolland is doing after his near death experience from last year. She told me he is well and is flowing with even greater anointing. Of course, Rolland was also well covered in prayer around the world during the attack on his body and mind.

The reality of the intercession mobilized for me during my physical crisis has overwhelmed me and has proven to me how powerful and important intercessory prayer is in healing and rescuing God's people from very difficult situations.

This morning as I began thinking about what to write in this blog, the Lord led me to think about intercession in the early church. The incident when the Apostle Peter was apprehended by Herod and imprisoned particularly came to mind. In Acts 12:4-5 we read, "And when Herod had seized Peter, he delivered him to four squads of soldiers to guard him . . .so Peter was kept in prison." The kicker is this: "but prayer for him was being made fervently by the church to God." As the account continues in verse 7, "And behold an angel of the Lord suddenly appeared and roused him, and freed Peter from the chains, the guards, and from the prison."

What many of us don't realize is that the devil is always interested in killing and destroying God's leaders and servants. The lesson here is that when the church gathers in concerted intercession, God moves powerfully to rescue the person that is under attack.

I, for one, am so thankful for all the intercession mobilized on my behalf and can testify that the Father has truly rescued me. I have heard from so many people who have been interceding for me, even from a FIH church in Pakistan. I feel totally humbled by this. I have experienced that God truly honours intercession by His people.

I am almost back to normal, still jogging about 3/4 of a mile every day and enjoying opportunities to minister again the goodness of God as I share my testimony about what I have been learning during these past 5 months. Thanks again for your prayers on my behalf!
