Seasons
As I sit here and write this Blog, at least one more leaf has fallen off the trees and hit the ground as this part of the world gears up for Winter.
Spring has come and gone, the warmth of Summer has passed and now Fall is slowly fading away, and ON TO WINTER... for some that brought excitement with the idea that they can participate in all the fun winter sports and activities or you may just love the snowy season and for others it brought a cold chill that ran through you and you all of a sudden felt the need to put on another sweater and grab some WARM socks. I happen to be the one in the category of putting on another sweater and planning some place warm to go and visit for a min. of 4 months :)
There is also a third category, those of you reading this that are from a place that during these months it is warm and sunny or at least not too cold it snows...Lucky!!
No, I really I do like winter and snow, 3 times a year, the first snow is always pretty, Christmas day needs snow and then one good day in January where you can grab a bunch of friends and go tobogganing. With all that to say, I have been thinking about the ever changing seasons, the ones that occur within nature and also the ones that occur within our own lives, our own hearts. We all go through seasons, seasons of love, and growing in giftings, like Spring and the abounding favor and time and time again of mountain top experiences, like Summer, and we have the colourful display of God’s goodness, kindness and joy that we feel can’t get much better, like Fall. Then there are the seasons that are a lot like winter, you just want to stay inside, you feel far from God, you feel like no doors are opening and your stuck, God are you still listening, you’re still there right? I think I can be bold enough to say that we go through all of these over and over in our lives, in our hearts and even in our ministries, sometimes it feels like certain seasons seem to span a lot longer than others, but we all experience them.
To get me through these seasons, good, bad, happy or sad, it’s always a comfort to my heart that God is the SAME through them all. He doesn’t change, even though season’s change, He is constant and faithful and gracious and loving and GOOD. In the midst of the most ferocious storm God is the Peace, He is the Calm. In the midst of the blossoms of life, He is Strong and Gentle. In the midst of Success and warm summery Love, God is a Lover and Provider, and in the midst of fresh beginnings and bright colourful newness, He is Grace and Creator. He is the SAME yesterday, today and forever, His face a smile of delight when He looks upon His Kids.
I have decided that I want to be like a sunflower. I want to point my face upwards toward the SON and follow Him where ever He goes and whatever he does. Immersing yourself in the Realms of Glory, so that no matter what the season there will be fruit in our lives 12 months of the year. Keeping your eyes upon Jesus, on Papa it creates a security in you as a Son or Daughter and then NO MATTER what season you find yourself in you know that you can persevere you can rise above the winter you can rejoice with the summer and you can praise through the Spring and Fall.
He wants you, Jesus desires you, He LONGS for you, He is Pleased with You, He yearns to take you deeper in His arms. Dive deeper, allow His love to overtake you and bring you LIFE and LIFE abundantly!
Be Encouraged GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME and HE never changes… but seasons are constantly changing.
