Whilst attending the PIH gathering in May 2016 The Lord dropped something into my heart.
I was talking with my husband over the telephone and he was giving me an update on some problems that were occurring with the well at our home in South Carolina. Dramatically, there was dark gray water pouring out of our taps! Yuck!
As it transpired this occurrence was due to the fact that we had been entertaining an increasing number of guests in our home and the significant increase of water consumption had made demands on the well that it was unable to fulfill. Accordingly, the silt and clay at the bottom of the well was being stirred up and our water was turning into a lovely dark hue.
We had been trying to solve these natural issues with our home well by applying various filters in order to strain out the silt, but this was no longer working. Only one thing can fix the problem. We have to DIG THE WELL DEEPER.
As I returned to the worship service after this unfortunate phone call The Lord spoke to me. This is what He said.
What is taking place with your well is a prophetic word for this movement. I am about to increase the demands upon the well as more people will come to drink. But it is time to dig the well deeper. Some people have notices silt (issues) coming up. It is time to dig the well deeper.
Immediately an obscure scripture came to my mind from the book of Numbers. The children of Israel are journeying along and they come to a well which apparently is dry and they remember what The Lord has done for them in the past.
Numbers 21:16 From there they went to Beer, which is the well where the Lord said to Moses, “Gather the people together, and I will give them water.” 17 Then Israel sang this song: “Spring up, O well! All of you sing to it— 18 The well the leaders sank, Dug by the nation’s nobles, By the lawgiver, with their staves.”
What is going on here and what is God saying?
Here is a well that needs some help. Like our well at home. The response of the children of Israel is interesting and important! They SING to the well!!
As God is calling us to dig our well deeper I believe there are some actions we can take. Here are a couple of ideas.
We can deepen our well through praise and worship.
We can deepen our well through Intercession and Prophetic declaration.
Also, the children of Israel remembered what The Lord had done in times past and they honored the memory of the leaders that had taken part.
I am glad to be part of a movement that values these actions! Let’s keep digging! Let’s go deeper!
