Dear PIH/FIH family,
It has been approximately 4 weeks since our International Conference here in Toronto and we want to thank all who made the efforts to come. We have had much positive feedback so glad you were blessed.
Since then, John Arnott and I had the privilege of being in Southern Brazil, (where it was winter) to lead the PIH Brazil annual gathering. There is such a sweet and gentle family spirit among our growing PIH family there which has been led so well by Anderson Lima, his brother Robson, and Geraldo Schmitzhaus.
Anderson shares a brief report below of our gathering:
We just had our South America PIH Conference in the beginning of this June. We gathered about 400 pastors and leaders from diferent parts of Brazil and Argentina. John Arnott and Dan Slade were with us speaking at the Conference plus the national coordinators, and one of our church Bands launched their first CD during the event.(It was outstanding!).
The presence of God was so intense and people were touched in a deeper way. Some recommitted themselves to the Lord and some received Jesus as a Savior (during the open evening meetings) and a great joy came all over us. It was a tremendous time in His presence, reviving our faith and energizing us to keep going.
We gathered some pastors from our town and they came to thank me for providing an event like this to them.
Yeah Jesus, Keep coming Holy Spirit! Let your Kingdom come Father, and your will be done in Brazil, South America and the world.
Frankly, we are shocked and grieved that Andrew, our PIH Middle East coordinator, has not been released from the false charges on which he is being held on in a prison near Izmir, Turkey. Many of you heard and saw his brave wife Norine over Facetime at our conference. In the natural we saw a great opportunity when President Trump and Vice President Pence personally addressed Andrew’s plight with President Erdogan of Turkey. I talked with Norine a few days ago and they are now very concerned about the summer weather affecting the small cell and block where Andrew is being held, now alongside 21 others. You can imagine a Turkish prison not being like our comparatively plush Western prisons. There are many other concerns so PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR ANDREW’S SPIRITUAL, EMOTIONAL, AND PHYSICAL HEALTH in these days, as well as for Norine who has done all she humanly could as a wife in an indescribable situation.
Our Latest Webinar
Last Wednesday, June 7, we missed a lot of you who are normally on our monthly webinar. You missed a great one! Alan Smith from CTF Dallas, our PIH South Central coordinator, presented a very insightful teaching on the Authority of the Scriptures. I am asking, strongly, for each of you to watch it here. We have cut out the Q and A to make the teaching more concise, so it is approximately 25 minutes.
In our day of societal relativity we need to love THE BOOK even more.
Here are 5 points from Alan’s teaching to entice you:
- Are you having encounters with God through the Scriptures, not just at meetings or conferences?
- Are you approaching the Scriptures with humility?
- Do you read the Scriptures or do the Scriptures read you?
- Are you reviewing and reinforcing the value of the Scriptures in your church?
- Are you breathing in the breathed out Words of God?
Gwen and I will be 3 and half weeks in Europe this summer. First we will be in Ukraine for a dear friend’s wedding, followed by a PIH Eastern Europe conference.
Then we will spend 2 full weeks in Western Europe, Germany, Holland and Belgium, ministering at and connecting with 9 PIH and FIH churches. This will be our first “extended tour” of Western Europe since we have been in this role and we are very excited.
Saturday July 1st we will be connecting with our PIH HOLLAND ministries for a one day retreat. If you are in the area and want more information please contact Nicole at our office here. We will be back July 9th to enjoy the beautiful Ontario summer!
Hope you in the northern hemisphere will enjoy your summer also, and for our friends in the southern hemisphere, your winter.
Blessings to all,
Dan & Gwen Slade
